Praised by Macworld for its functionality, this tool is available for Apple’s Mac OS X and for Microsoft’s Windows operating systems. It is a tool you can use to easily add watermarks to your photos. That is something you will want to do if you plan on sharing the images online. The watermark will ensure that no matter where the image ends up, the watermark will ensure everyone knows it’s yours.

The size of the iWatermark installation file for Windows is a lightweight 3.6MB, so even on a lousy internet connection, the download will complete in a blink. The setup wizard that shows up when you run the aforementioned file asks where you want to install the application and if you want a shortcut on the desktop.

The main part of the application’s interface is taken up by the Input and Output windows. From the input window you can select the image you want to watermark (drag a file or folder onto the window, or click the window to choose a file/folder), and from the output window you can choose where you want the watermarked image to be saved. At the top of these two windows there are the Main, Filter, Saving, Resizing, Thumbnails, Advanced, IPTC, and Register buttons.

iWatermark’s main functionality is to watermark images. As mentioned above, selecting the image you want to watermark is a simple process. There are 8 watermark examples you could choose to add to an image – or you could create a watermark of your own. Said watermark can include a custom image or a custom text. You can type in whatever your want, pick the font style and size, select an effect, and pick a background color for your text watermark. When you’re done picking a watermark, simply click the Start Processing button from the bottom right hand corner and iWatermark will do its job. The application will apply the watermark and save the watermarked image to the specified location.

Speaking about watermarks, the trial version of iWatermark will put one on the output. Register the application to get rid of this limitation.

Getting back to the functionality iWatermark has to offer, it must be added that, besides putting a watermark, it can also rename images based on a specific pattern, resize images, create thumbnails of processed images, and embed IPTC info into images.

It is a pleasure to use iWatermark to put a watermark on images. Its ease of use is truly amazing.

Pros

iWatermark is available for Mac and Windows. The application’s interface is very easy to use. Put an image or text watermark on a photo, resize images, create thumbnails, and embed IPTC data with the help of iWatermark.

Cons

Trial puts a watermark on the output.
